Objective
The Freedom of Information service aims to enable beneficiaries to access information classified as "public" by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in a way that maximizes the benefit from the data assets.
Scope
This service applies to all public data and information issued by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, regardless of its source, format, or nature.
Main Principles of Freedom of Information
Public Information Policy
The public information policy applies to all requests from individuals to access or obtain public (non-protected) information produced by public entities, regardless of its source, format, or nature.
Exclusions from the Freedom of Information Policy
- Information of a commercial, industrial, financial, or economic nature, the disclosure of which would lead to profit or prevent a loss in an unlawful manner.
- Scientific or technical research or rights containing intellectual property that, if disclosed, would infringe on moral rights.
- Information and documents obtained under an agreement with another country and classified as protected.
- Recommendations, proposals, or consultations for a government decision or legislation not yet issued.
- Investigations, inspections, and monitoring related to a crime, violation, or threat.
- Confidential or personal information under another system or requiring specific legal procedures to access.
- Military or security information.
Individual Rights:
- Individuals have the right to access and obtain any public information held by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
- Individuals have the right to know the reason for refusing to access or obtain the requested information.
- Individuals have the right to appeal a decision to refuse an access request or obtain requested information.
