The General Authority for Statistics revealed in its bulletin today the Umrah statistics for the first quarter of 2025, showing that the total number of pilgrims reached 15,222,497, of which Saudis represented 24%, while males accounted for 60.5% compared to 39.5% for females. The bulletin results indicated that the number of Umrah performers coming from abroad reached 6,523,630, an increase of 10.7% compared to the first quarter of 2024, with most arriving via air ports at 82.2%, while domestic pilgrims numbered 8,698,867, of which non-Saudis represented 58%. In the same context, January 2025 led the number of international Umrah performers at 36.5% of the total, while March was the lowest, whereas March represented the highest percentage of domestic pilgrims at 80.9%, and January was the lowest. The bulletin results showed that the total number of visitors to Madinah reached 6,452,696 during the first quarter of 2025, of whom 4,412,689 were from abroad. It is noted that Umrah and Madinah visitation statistics are issued quarterly starting from 2024, presenting the numbers and percentages of pilgrims and visitors from inside and outside the Kingdom based on field surveys and registry data from the Guests of Allah Service Program and the Ministry of Tourism, in addition to the approved statistical models.
